In the process of creating the visual world of Deep Water I took inspiration from the landscape of the Lake district, where the series is set and shot. I looked at the colours and textures and the dramatic shifts that come with the change of season, weather and light, and used elements of nature to reflect the personas of the lead characters.

The colour palette is based on the autumnal colours of the Lake district- ranging from earthy browns, gold and greens to the mellow mauves of the mountains and the cool, deep greys of the lakes.
